Dt post for Creative Artiste - Challenge #25

Hi everyone! Another month gone by so a new challenge over at Creative Artiste.
This month we are sponsored by:

 DecoArt - here's the prize:

For this project I found a large tag that had been hanging around for ages.
I covered it with white gesso which I dried with my heat tool as I'm too impatient!
I then gave it a coat of DecoArt Americana acrylic paint in burnt umber, dried again then applied a thin coat of DecoArt Americana weathered wood crackle medium. Once this had dried applied a final coat of DecoArt Americana acrylic in snow white, dried with heat gun & watched it crackle!
I carefully stamped the image onto the tag, hoping that the face would be in a place that was not too crackled.
I used some Pan Pastel to colour the face, and used pink gilding wax to colour the flowers - putting on with my finger. Went around the edges with the wax as well then finished off with some gold Rub'n'Buff.
Some lovely goodies in that prize - makes me wish I could enter!
Pop over to the blog & check out what the other DT's have made - you have to be in it to win it - go on! Just think what great fun you'll have using all those goodies!
Thanks for stopping  by.

Music & Sewing Twinchies

Here are two sets of twinchies I made for recent swaps.
On the sewing ones I embossed & cut out the scissors, safety pin & pins. Added a pearl for the top of the other pin.
With the treble clef I stamped & cut out then covered in black glitter.

Hope you like them,

Bev xx

Fabric Inchies

Hi everyone - well what a change in the weather here today - raining and cold after such a lovely few days.
Thought I would pop on & share these 'fabric' inchies that I made for a swap.
The first thing I did was take some roving wool in a few colours and hand felted it into a square, then I cut my inchies from this.
I found some tiny buttons & beads and attached these on each inchie with a little sewing. Went around the edges with my idea of a blanket stitch!
Thanks for stopping by.

Postcard Art Swap - clocks, watches & time

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. The weather here has been lovely, but as I am sat writing this it is raining & is quite a bit colder today - good time to stay in and craft I think!
I can share this postcard as it has been received.
I cut the postcard from black card & embossed with an embossing folder. I went over the embossing with various colours of Viva Decor waxes.
I stamped the pocket watch & chain using versa mark ink & embossed with gold embossing powder, then cut it out. Used DI to ink over the watch face.
Stamped the border onto white card using black archival then cut out, inked around the edges with DI.
Die cut the wings from white card & inked with DI.
Arranged all the elements onto the postcard, using foam pads on the watch for a bit of dimension.
Stamped the sentiment using versa mark, embossed using gold embossing powder. Cut out & inked around using DI.
Hope you like it.

DT post for Crafty Calendar

Hi everyone! A new challenge has begun over at Crafty Calendar

This month we are sponsored by :

The theme this month is Mum's Day/Special Female.
The background on my card was made by putting ink onto a stencil, then spraying the stencil with water. Care has to be taken at this stage to remove the paper from underneath & placing the stencil, ink side down, onto some watercolour paper.
The image was stamped onto white card, coloured & cut out. Same with the sentiment, but the ornate part of the sign was stamped straight onto the background.
Hope you have time to pop over to the Crafty Calendar blog & have a peek at the other DT's makes. Have a go at the challenge & you might be lucky enough to win some lovely goodies from Wild Orchid Crafts!
Thanks for stopping by.

Creative Artiste DT post - challenge #24

Hi everyone - time for another challenge over at Creative Artiste! The theme, as usual, is anything goes. If you're lucky enough to win you will receive goodies - stamps & dies - from the lovely Judy McKay.
I stamped the shoes onto white card, coloured in & cut out, same with the sentiment.
Ran some card through my GC using a clock embossing folder, then inked over this to bring out the details. Die cut this into the square shape, then cut lots of other shapes to buiod up the card.
Arranged everything onto the brown base card, adding a couple of brads.
Hope you have time to pop over to the Creative Artiste blog & have a look at the other DT's makes. Enter the challenge & you never know - it could be YOU!

Inchie Tag

Hi everyone! Just thought I pop by & share this tag with you.
It was made for a swap, but has been received now so I can share it.
The theme was to make a tag but use inchies - love those little inchies!
I painted the tag with a mixture of white & yellow acrylic paint. Inked through a stencil with green Distress Ink and around the edges of the tag with vintage photo DI.
Stamped the image on the tag & images on the inchies with walnut stain DI.
Die cut the honeycomb from brown card. Adhered this to the bottom of the tag.
Mounted my inchies onto some brown card & arranged them onto the tag. Finished off with some garden twine.
Thanks for stopping by.

Postcard Swap

Hi everyone! Hope you all stayed safe during Storm Doris!
I can share this postcard with you now as the swaps have been done.
The theme was Love letters & old lace.
I embossed a white piece of card using an embossing folder & my trusty Grand Calibur. Inked around the card using Distress Inks, to highlight the embossing and give an aged look.
I found some backing paper with script on it. Cut a piece of this, inked the edges & placed down the centre of my postcard.
Die cut the hearts from black card & went over these with gold Inka Gold.
Die cut the words from some red card.
I thought it was needing something else down the centre so I made some small envelopes from copy paper, inked around these to give that aged look.
Arranged the envelopes, hearts & words onto the postcard.
Added some small hearts onto the envelopes & some pearl hearts onto the postcard.
Hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by.

Challenge 23 Creative Artiste

Hi Everyone! Time for another challenge over at Creative Artiste,

Theme - anything goes.

I had the words from Scrapmatts to use. Because of the words I decided some kind of suitcase would be good.
I found this design for a pen pot in my Silhouette Design store.
Cut the design from Kraft card.
Went over the sides using a Scrapmatts stencil & some DI,
Coloured the words using my Aztec Metallic paints.
Put the penpot together, stuck on the embellishments & added the tag with some twine.

Hope you have time to pop over to the blog to see the other DT's makes & enter the challenge.

DT post for Creative Artiste - #22 January Challenge.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good Christmas & New Year. 2017 - can't believe it!
Time for a new challenge over at Creative Artiste.

We are sponsored by:

I was lucky enough to receive a fab bag of goodies from Things to Alter. I chose the fairy & toadstool shapes.

I cut a piece of cardboard - (from the many cardboard boxes that various Christmas goodies came in!) and painted with dark blue acrylic paint. I used white & pink acrylic paint through stencils. Coloured the shapes using acrylics. Stencilled onto the wings using the acrylic & then decided I wanted to use embossing powder - would it work with the paint? Yes it did! Gave the shapes a blast of  spray & shine.
Gave the background stencils a bit of sparkle with some sparkle pens.

Wrote the word believe in sparkle pen - because I really do have to believe it's 2017!

Head on over to Creative Artiste - check out the other DT's makes, enter the challenge & you might win some of the lovely shapes from Things to Alter.

Happy New Year!

Thanks for stopping by.
