Winter Wonderland

Hi I'm here again!
I decided to try the Brusho strip technique with other stamps.
I painted a strip of white gesso across the centre of my Kraft Kard base. Once this had dried I stamped the two trees & the village scene with black Archival.
Tore a strip from the A4 Brusho background I had already done previously & stamped the images again across this strip.
I lined the images up & adhered the strip to the card.
Stamped the winter wonderland sentiment in black Archival.
Finally added some stickles sparkle into the sky strip.
I'm not quite sure if this has worked - what do you think?
Thanks for stopping by.

Rain Day

Hi everyone! Well I have made this card for a challenge over on Outlawz - rain day - and the sun is blasting down here today! I must have chased all the rain away with my card!
The background is done with Brusho paints - I'm a bit obsessed with these at the moment! I know it looks blue but I had used the black - when you sprinkle this onto the card & spritz it there are some fab colours, I 'smooshed' across this with a very wet brush, then dabbed with kitchen roll to hive a softer look. I die cut the shape I wanted for my card.
Stamped the umbrella onto white card & coloured using DI & cut out. Stamped the raindrops onto the background being careful where I wanted to place my umbrella.
I had some card that I had been colouring with Brusho stripes in rainbow colours. Stamped the sentiment onto this & die cut.
Arranged the image & sentiment onto my raindrop background. Added some sticles over the raindrops.
For the base card I had some watercolour papesr that I had been experimenting on with inks & stencils.
I found one that I thought complimented my image & matted my image layer onto it, then adhered this onto my card.
Hope you like it - I had fun making it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Winter Wishes

Hi everyone! Well it's like autumn here today, but of the cold wet kind not the cold bright kind. I was just finishing this card off & I had to have the light on!
The inspiration for this came from watching Lesley Wharton from Chocolate Baroque on the Craft Channel. I have ordered the stamps she used but couldn't wait for them to arrive so had a look through my stamp stash and found these ones, so thought I would have a go. I hope she doesn't mind!
I filled an A4 sheet of card with Brusho powders & spritzed with water. Left this to dry or you can dry with a heat gun.
Cut a piece of Kraft card to the size I wanted & painted across the centre with white gesso.
Once this had dried I stamped the three trees onto this.
I tore a strip from the A4 sheet and stamped the trees over this piece.
I then lined the torn, stamped strip up with the stamped images on the card & adhered this in place.
I really didn't think it needed much more so just added the stamped winter wishes sentiment in the corner.
I loved doing this & I think it has turned out great - can't wait for my stamps to arrive!
Thanks for stopping by.

Shades of pink

Hi everyone! Well the sun has disappeared today & the rain clouds are back, think the heating might have to go on!
This card was made for the colour challenge over on Outlawz - the theme this week was to use shades of one colour. You can use other colours but the main colour shades have to be prominent.
The background is a small stamp stamped lots of times, then I have inked over this with abandoned coral & picked raspberry distress inks.
A smaller background was made from pink card, stamped with the same stamp using tattered rose DI.
Stamped the flamingo onto white card and coloured with the DI's & cut out.
Stamped the sentiment onto pink card, matted onto white & inked with pink around the edges.
Arranged everything onto the card - thought it needed a little something else so I stamped the flowers a couple of times onto white card & coloured in. Added these on foam pads fo a bit of dimension.
Added some glossy accent onto the flowers & the largest flower on the flamingo.
Added a few highlights of colour onto the background.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Another challenge card

Hi everyone - this card was made for the Outlawz Monday's Greetings challenge. Every project must have a visible sentiment on it.
I stamped the peacock & feather images onto a die cut piece of white card & coloured using Peacock Feathers & Mermaid Lagoon DI. I added Stickles to the peacock feathers too.
Matted this onto some glitter card, and then onto the card front.
Added the stamped, die cut & inked sentiment to the front.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

CAS card

Hi everyone - the sun has disappeared today & it is not quite as warm. Hope you all had a good weekend whatever you were doing.
I thought I would share this CAS card with you today. It was made for a challenge over at Outlawz Challenge blog - it was their Sunday challenge. It is always CAS but has a different theme every week, this week it is things with wings.
I found the stamp I wanted to use & inked up some card using fossilized amber & salty ocean DI. Splashed a few drops of water on the bottom half to give the impression of water.
I then stamped the images onto my inked background.
I matted the card onto some blue card & added the sentiment.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Steampunk Tag

For this tag I used 2 images from an oldish Chocolate Baroque stamp - Punky Romance. The love stamp was stamped onto red card using black Archival ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then cut the image out - bit fiddly but I managed it!
The main image was stamped, then I coloured the cogs using some metallic acrylic paint - great find from the local poundshop! The rest of the image was coloured using Distress inks & Cosmic Shimmer watercolours.
I painted the large tag with white gesso, then Americana black lamp acrylic. Once this dried I applied a coat of Americana weathered wood. When this dried I applied a coat of Americana snow acrylic & watched the weathered effect appear.
I gave the tag a spray with Adirondack colour wash in cranberry.
Inked through a Peerless Designs cog mask on one side with frayed burlap Distress Ink.
Used some gold leaf Rub'n'Buff around the edges.
Adhered the stamped elements to the tag, used some more Rub'n'Buff.
Found some metal elements - a leaf & a cog just to finish the tag off.
Have enlarged the top & bottom of the tag so you can get a closer look at the effects & elements.
Hope you like it.

Another Christmas in July card

Hi everyone - I hope you're all having a great weekend, whatever you are doing.
It is still hot & muggy here so am sat here writing this with two lovely fans cooling me down. My own internal heating plus the weather is not a good combination!
To make this card I used an embossing folder on white card. I then gently inked over this with Salty Ocean DI. Stamped the sleigh & sentiment using black Archival.
Die cut 2 large & 2 smaller snowflakes from white card. I inked around these with the Salty Ocean DI. Added some blue stickles to these, the falling snow & gently spread a light layer over the sentiment.
Layered up the card onto blue then grey card, inked around the grey card.
Added the snowflakes with foam pads for a bit of dimension, added a blue gem to the centres.
Finished off with a bow.
Thanks for stopping by.

Something Funny challenge

Hi everyone!
I'm sharing a card I have made for a challenge over on the Outlawz challenge blog. The theme for Thursday's challenge is Something Funny.
I used a stamp from Acid Drops & Whatnots for the main image, frame & sentiment. Stamped Betty onto white card twice, coloured in with watercolours & cut out. Coloured the flower on her hat & ruffles on her costume on the second image, cut out & placed on main image using foam pads.
Stamped the frame & sentiment onto white card & cut out.
Inked a piece of white card using Peacock Feathers DI. Made some water splashes onto this Stamped onto this using a flourish background stamp with Versa Mark & went over this lightly with blue Pan Pastel. Placed this onto some freebie backing paper.
Arranged Betty & the sentiment onto the background using foam pads.
Thought it needed a little more - found some bunting stamps. Stamped & coloured these, cut out & arranged across the top of the card.
Hope you like it & it gives you a bit of a laugh.

Summer Recreation

Hi everyone -wow! it's a bit hot today. I am sat typing this with a lovely big fan cooling me down - aaahhh!
Thought I would share this card with you today.
The theme over on Outlawz Monday Greetings is Summer Recreation.
The sky & sand were part of some freebie papers.
To make the sea I used masking tape, ripped this down the middle & placed onto the card in layers, overlapping each piece slightly. Once I had enough I rolled the edges down - they don't really stick to each other - I went over the surface with Salty Ocean DI. Once the whole sea was covered I then dabbed it with some kitchen paper to lighten areas. Added some stickles on the edges for a bit of sparkle.
Then I added the 'beach', stamped, coloured & cut out the deck chair & umbrella. The other elements were on the freebie papers.
I die cut some white card, stamped the sentiment in black Archival & inked with mustard seed DI.
I think the sea turned out well - looks better in real life than on the photo.
Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas in July

Hi everyone - what a beautiful day it is here today. Doesn't seem the right kind of weather to be making Christmas cards, but that was the challenge over on the Outlawz challenge blog today.
The centre image is a die cut, the die was a freebie from a magazine. I cut it once from dark blue card & once from black card. The black die cut I stuck onto white card, then pieced the dark blue card for the sky.
I cut the twiggy wreath, poinsettia, fir tree branches, snowflakes & sentiment from white card. Inked the pieces I wanted coloured.
Arranged everything onto some paler blue card, then matted this onto dark blue card & attached this onto the card.
Finally I went around with some Stickles to add a bit of glitter - well you just have to for Christmas!
Thanks for stopping by.

Colour Combo with a twist!

Hi again! I was looking around the Outlawz challenge blog & found a colour challenge with a twist. The colours to use ( all or upto 3) were rust, gold, black, grey & blue. The twist was a masculine theme.
I found the retro radio & sentiment stamp (freebie from a magazine - love freebies!) and thought these would be ok for the masculine theme.
Stamped the sentiment with Versa Mark, then added gold embossing powder. Stamped the image with black Archival, coloured using watercolour pencils.
Die cut the image, and another two matching layers, one black card & the largest was white card which I edged with rusty Inka Gold.
It's a great blog - new challenges every day, pop over and have a look.

Summer Breeze ATC's

Hi everyone! Weather is a bit cool & dull here today.
Have been up to see Keith's Mum this morning, she is in a care home as she has advanced Alzheimer's - always an upsetting visit. She is well cared for & the staff are so good to her. She doesn't know anyone now & cannot speak - well she does but nothing anyone can understand - it's so sad to see her like this. She used to react to photo's but doesn't seem to be able to do that now. I always have to sit in the car for a while before setting off back home.
On a lighter note James's dog Poppy

is staying here for a few days while he is busy with work - she cheers me up with her waggy tail & kisses.
Just thought I'd share these ATC's I have done for a swap over on Blissfull ATC Swap.
The top left background was done by placing ink randomly onto a stencil, then spritzing with water, carefully placing the inked, spritzed stencil onto some clean copy paper then pressing some watercolour paper onto the inked side of the stencil. I love the effects I have been getting using this technique.
The background on the kites one was done by inking up an embossing folder then embossing some white card. I did another one, cut out the large kites & coloured using Inka Gold.
The beach background was another embossing folder, I then inked over the impression with DI & added highlights with Inka Gold. The collaged beach elements were freebies fron a magazine.
Hope you like them - hope my swap partner in USA likes them!
Thanks for stopping by.

'Tag you're it'

Hi - have you survived this sporty weekend? I have loved all the tennis, don't mind the footy. Some Davis Cup tennis on next weekend - looking forward to that!
Here is a tag I have made for a challenge over on Flickr.
I tapped various colour inks onto a stencil, then spritzed with water. Carefully transferred the stencil onto some copy paper & wiped my craft mat down. Placed some watercolour paper onto the inked, spritzed stencil & gently pressed down. Lifted off carefully.
Once this had dried I adhered this onto a white tag.
Stamped the fairy image onto white card, coloured in and cut out.
Stamped the poppies onto kitchen roll, coloured in cut out & separated the two layers to give a translucent effect.
Placed everything onto the tag, stamped the sentiment & little bird.
I covered the whole tag in sparkle Mod Podge.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

July Calendar Art

Hi everyone! Hope you're all managing to stay dry - think we have had every kind of weather in the last few days - that's British Summertime for you!
I've popped by today to share this month's calendar art.
I had to alter the design from Silhouette Studio as I love Wimbledon & wanted a tennis themed design, so I found some tennis themed designs and substituted them for the original design, plus went with a green background. The flowery background is recycled from some packaging that came with a die.
I like how it's turned out - looks good on the wall.
Thanks for stopping by.

Crafty Calendar DT post - punches and/or dies

Another new challenge over at Crafty Calendar for this new month. It's use punches and/or dies & we are sponsored by:

Hi I am Wendy Burns I live in Nottingham UK with my husband and two children who have been the inspiration behind the characters,  in particular my daughter who has kept me up-to-date with blogging and trends.  I work predominantly within the textile children’s wear market, fashion and interiors.

I trained as a textile designer and although my work is digital based, I love to retain that hand drawn /sewn feel which I hope comes across in my artwork.

Digital stamps is a new challenge for me and the opportunity to work with the All Dressed Up Team and has been very exciting, in particular the creative way my characters have been given individual personalities by the designers .

All Dressed Up is a newly launched blog with an enthusiastic team who are passionate about stamping.  The coordinators Anne Lise and Bettina along with an amazing design team are also known as The Dressy Girls.

We have a friendly Facebook page, regular blog posts, tutorials, challenges and freebies .The stamps can be purchased from the Etsy shop which is updated on a monthly basis.

We really are friendly bunch and would love to see your creations so please feel free to contact us and visit the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog.

We were sent some lovely images to work with, I chose 'Smile it's your birthday'.
I printed the image off & coloured using watercolour pencils.
I had a ready made box card so decided to dress it up a bit using my Spellbinder Sapphire & a selection of dies.
Once I had die cut everything I needed & cut out the image & sentiment I arranged everything into the box.

I hope you can join in the challenge - pop over & see the other DT's lovely makes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Bev xx

Creative Artiste DT post - anything goes

Hi everyone - another month gone by! I must be getting old as these months seem to be two minutes long - lol!
Time for a new challenge over at Creative Artiste.
This month we are sponsored by :

They very kindly sent us some samples to work with. I received chipboard circle shapes, chipboard words & a stencil.
I had some lovely freebie papers from a magazine that were travel themed so thought one of these would be a good base for my project.

I coloured the circle frame & words using salty ocean DI, inked through the stencil with the same ink.
Stamped various images around the page using frayed burlap & forest green DI. Also stamped a couple of phrases using black Archival - the one near the anchor says 'I'll be your anchor' & the one just under the circle frame says 'I'd swim oceans for you'.

I found the central sentiment among the same freebie papers so cut it out, put it onto some card & inked around with the salty ocean DI.

I hope you can join in the challenge or pop over & take a peek at the other DT's makes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Bev xx
