Sea Creatures ATC

Hi everyone - where did that long weekend go?? Weather has been kind here, quite a bit of sun.
I thought I would share with you this Sea Creatures ATC I have made for a challenge over on Wicked Wednesday.
The background is made using Brusho's paints onto watercolour paper. I stamped some seaweed onto it using distress ink.
I stamped the mermaid's tail onto some paper I found among my stash. It doesn't show up on the photo but it shines different colours depending on how the light hits it. I cut this out.
I stamped the shell onto white card & inked with distress inks, cut it out.
I wanted her hair to be a part of the sea-like background so I masked off the parts of the stamp I didn't want with tape, inked up the stamp & stamped onto the background.
I stamped the top half of the mermaid onto white card, cut out the pieces I needed & placed them onto the ATC. This was a bit fiddly but I like how it has turned out.
Placed the shell onto the ATC, attached the tail, coloured her skin & the shell she's holding.
For her hair I went over the image with distress ink.
I went around the ATC with some Stickles, applying quite a bit to her hair.
Thanks for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your day.
Hugs,
Bev xx

Paper Kimono Girl ATC

Hi everyone - it was a lovely day here earlier but it has clouded over and gone a bit chilly now.
I finally managed to make a paper Kimono Girl - yay! There is a good tutorial here .
I used some Origami paper - it's really thin, but strong & easily folds even though this was a small doll. Lovely patterns too.
I have made this as part of a challenge over on Flickr - Womens Trading Cards - there are some lovely makes on there - go and take a look.

Kimino Girl ATC

Hi everyone - a dull cool day here today.
Here is today's ATC make. It is for a challenge over on Flickr - to make a Kimono girl ATC. There are some lovely makes, a lot have made paper Kimono Girls. I did find a tutorial on You Tube but mine didn't turn out very good so I decided to use some stamps on mine. I will keep trying with the paper doll though.
I stamped the cherry blossom & bamboo using distress inks. Used watercolours to colour, colour washed the background. Stamped the Kimono girl and the fans onto white card using black Archival.
Coloured the girl using Liquid pearls to give a bit of a sheen, watercoloured the parasol & fans. Cut out the girl & fans, arranged them onto the ATC.
Thanks for stopping by.

Things with wings

Hi - another make to show you today! I'm on a roll - must be the good weather!
Another challenge over on Flickr - this time things with wings.
I started off with an ATC.
I stamped the fairy image onto the ATC, coloured using Liquid Pearls to give her a bit of a sheen. Coloured the flowers with watercolours. Watercoloured the background & added a few water splashes. Inked around the edges.
I decided this would look ok as a topper on a card. I die cut 2 layers. I like the 'stitched' edges on these dies.
Stamped flowers onto the smaller layer with distress ink & coloured using distress inks. Inked around the edge.
I layered this onto the larger white card, then placed the ATC on top.
Die cut & inked a butterfly, stamped the sentiment then cut out.
Arranged these onto the card.
Even though it made a lovely ATC I think it has made a pretty card.
Thanks for stopping by - again!

Froggy ATC

Hi everyone! It's a lovely sunny day here today - hope it's the same wherever you are.
I have this ATC to share with you -  there is a challenge Froggy Challenge over on Flickr.
I drew the frog! First attempt - don't think it came out too bad. Coloured using watercolours & cut it out. I drew the lily pad onto the ATC, coloured with watercolours. Inked around the rest of the ATC using distress ink. Made a mask for the lily pad then stamped the bullrushes using distress ink.
Sat my frog onto the lily pad.
Hope you like my Froggy ATC.
Thanks for stopping by.

Earth Day ATC

Hi everyone - where has the sun gone?? Bucketing down & cold here today.
Just thought I would share this Earth Day ATC I have made for a challenge over on Flickr - have a look at my Flickr page here. Hubby's page is worth a look too here.
I Inked the background with distress inks then added some water splashes.
The die cuts are a design by Sarah Bailey from Silhouette Studio. Even though it is a large design it transferred to ATC size with no problems.

Tuscan Sun ATC's

Hi everyone - hope you are all having a great weekend. The weather here has been lovely but as I sit writing this it has gone very dark & I think we may be in for a downpour - well we've had a couple of days of sunshine!
I just thought I would share with you these ATC's I have made for the Blissfull ATC Swap. The theme for May is Tuscan Sun.
The stamp I have used is Tuscany by HobbyArt.
The fist one was stamped onto white card, then coloured with watercolours. I did a 'spotlight' on the middle one by stamping again onto white card then die cut the circle. I coloured this with the watercolours, then triple embossed the circle with clear embossing powder. The last one I stamped onto tissue paper, watercoloured then applied this to the base ATC using clear encaustic wax - I love the texture that this has given, a bit hard to show on the photo. I edged this one with silver wax. Added a few brown wax centres to the flowers.
I stamped out some flowers onto white card, coloured these, then cut out & added to each ATC for a bit of dimension. Added a drop of Glossy Accent to the flower centres.
These are headed to the USA next week.
Thanks for stopping by.

DT post for Crafty Calendar - things with wings.

Hi everyone - well I can't believe it's May already! Time for another challenge over at Crafty Calendar.
Our sponsors this month are:

I printed the image from Angie's Cards & Digis onto white card. Coloured using watercoloirs. Die cut into a flower shape, added some faux stitching around the edges.
Covered some more card with some lovely backing papers found at my local poundshop. Cut the swing easel card from this then added a matt of more gorgeous backing paper.
Fixed the image onto the card, made some die cut flowers and leaves.
Arranged these onto the card.
Added a smaller flower & a bow as a stopper.
Finished off with some pearldrops on the butterfly wings & edged of the card. Some pearls in the middle of the flowers.
Don't forget to pop over to Crafty Calendar and check out the other Design Team's beautiful makes. You have all month to enter.

Creative Artiste DT post

Hi everyone! Time for another challenge over at Creative Artiste.
Our sponsor this month is:

I decided to decorate this mirror. I picked out some paper, cut into small squares & stuck these onto the wood surround. Added some texture paste through various stencils. The original colour was a lot paler & I didn't like how it was turning out so I covered it all in black gesso!
I die cut various cogs, leaves & corners from black card & covered with platinum & copper Inka Gold.
I went over the texture paste with the same Inka Gold colours.
I arranged the elements onto the frame then decided to add the words, so I die cut these from black card & covered with the Inka Gold as well. Made some flowers & gave these the Inka Gold treatment as well. I just love how the Inka Gold makes everything look like metal - people can't believe it is all card!
Arranged everything & stuck down with dries clear glue.
I like this version much better than the one I started out with.
Don't forget to pop over to Creative Artiste & see the other Design Team's makes. You have a month to get your entry in!
Thanks for stopping by.

Bev xx

Encaustic Playing

Hi everyone - hope you have had a good Bank Holiday. We've had a lot of rain here - typical British Bank Holiday! Good for a bit of crafting though.
I decided to have another play with my waxes. Just practicing landscapes & tried a bit of stamping. I like practicing on ATC's as it doesn't seem as daunting to start.
For the seahorse one I stamped onto the coated card with Stazon first, let it dry then applied my waxes mixed with some clear wax. This makes the waxes transparent so you can see the stamp - cool!
Thanks for stopping by.
