Hi everyone - it's a new month so that means there must be a new challenge over on Creative Artiste Challenge Blog. The theme this month is anything goes.
The sponsor this month is:
The image I used was Fruity Patootie.
I decided to try something different this month. I printed the image onto fabric using Freezer paper - I love this but haven't tried it for anything freezer related!
Once this was done I coloured it using my Inktense pencils. Used some stencils for the background.
To make the image stand out I decided to embroider around the edges - I enjoyed doing this. I was going to try some free motion embroidery on my machine but thought I might spoil the image.
Once the sewing was done decided it needed a bit of bling so added some beads.
I found a notebook that I thought was in need of a bit of a makeover & thought it would make a good recipe book.
Placed some wadding onto the book, covered this with my image. Covered the inside with a piece of card to cover the 'workings'.
Added some more beads & stamped cocktails, summer & recipes onto small strips of cloth & adhered these to the book.
Don't forget to pop over to Creative Artiste & have a look at the other DT members' projects.
I had printed 2 images out onto the cotton so decided to give the free motion embroidery a go! Here it is - hope you like. I REALLY enjoyed doing this so can imagine I will be having fun with this. The only area not stitched is her face. Hope you can see the stitching in this photo.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Bev xx
