Doll stamp

Hi - Hope everyone is having a good summer - managing to keep cool, I have fans on constantly.
I used a Prima mixed media stamp designed by Julie Nutting , this one is called Taylor - I am loving these stamps! I got them from  Cuddly Buddly at a really great price, of course a few other items slipped into my basket as well - naughty, naughty!
I stamped the image onto white card & various patterned papers. Coloured the skin & hair using watercolour pencils. I then cut out the pieces on the patterned papers & adhered these to the image.
Adhered the image to some white card & tore around the image, inked the torn edges using  Memento Angel Pink ink.
Stamped the sentiment from Crafter's Companion vintage floral sentimental stamps, onto white card using Memento Grape Jelly ink. Tore around the sentiment & inked around the edges using the Angel Pink.
Adhered the image & sentiment to the backing paper using foam pads for a bit of dimension.
Put some pearls in the centres of some of the patterns.
I loved playing with this stamp, reminded me of those paper dress up dolls I loved playing with as a child.

Friday, 25 July 2014

Hi everyone! Well it's very hot here today - I am indoors with the fans on, time for a bit of crafting I think!
Today's word on One Word Wonder was embossed.
I have had the beach huts embossing folder from Crafter's Companion Embossalicious range for a while so decided to use it today, along with Let's Fly a Kite from the same range.
I embossed the beach huts onto white card, cut them out & carefully coloured them with a touch of ink. I painted the roof edges with watercolour.
I embossed the kites onto blue backing paper, I highlighted the centres of the kites with white pen.
I printed the sentiment using my little alphabet set, printed a few little flowers around the sentiment.
Matted onto some green card.
I like the little beach huts - cute.

One Word Wonder - wings

Hi everyone - hope you are managing to keep cool.
Today's word was wings.
I ran a tag through my GC using and a floral embossing folder. I highlighted the embossed parts using gold Rub'n'Buff & waxes in shades of green. I went around the edge with pink Inka Gold.
I cut the butterfly from some pink paper using a Cheery Lynn die - Lace Faerie Queen with Angel Wing. I cut the angel wing from white card & coloured using Pan Pastel burnt sienna tint, went around the edge with the Inka Gold.
Adhered the butterfly to the wings & adhered to the tag, curling both sets of wings up for some dimension.
Stamped the sentiment, added some bling hearts & butterflies.
The flower at the top is metal ( I know the photo doesn't do it justice - looks like card!) with a brad through the centre.
Thanks for stopping by - stay cool!

DT piece - Paris candle

Hi everyone! Hope your weekend has not been too bad - we've had rain and a little thunder & lightening yesterday. Still very humid though. Sun is out today!
When I was looking through the design sheets on the Vintage Floral CD from Crafter's Companion which Julie Bradwell owner of JB Crafting Supplies sent to me for my DT pieces, I thought that the Paris images would look good on a candle.
I picked a design & colour out. Taped some tissue paper onto some copy paper & printed the design onto the tissue.
Tried the images around the candle to see where I wanted them.
Placed some greaseproof paper around the candle, pulling it tight & making sure there were no creases on the image sheet.
Carefully heated the image with my heat gun, making sure the greaseproof was held tight & watching for creases.
This was the first time I had tried this with an image  printed from a CD & I am pleased wth how it turned out
Hope you like it.

DT piece for JB Crafting Supplies

Hi - hope everyone had a good weekend. Weather has been ok here.
This is my DT piece for JB Crafting Supplies this week using Crafter's Companion Vinatge Floral Collection CD supplied by Julie from JB Crafting Supplies.
I printed off a design sheet to use as a backing paper, co-ordinating paper, postcards from the vintage ephemera sheet & a few embellishments all from the Crafter's Companion Vintage Floral Collection CD.
I printed these onto super smooth paper as I think this gives a better finish.
Adhered the design sheet to my card, then set about cutting out the rest of my elements.
Matted the postcards onto the co-ordinating paper - it was all really easy as everything co-ordinates & the CD is easy to use.
Arranged all the elements onto my card until I thought it looked ok.
Hope you like it.

Just For Fun DT Make - a try at a mechanical card ...

A new challenge starts today over on Just For Fun Challenge Blog - it is now always anything goes. The maximum number of entries is now 2. It runs all month so plenty of time to get your entries in - hope to see you there.
Thought I would try a mechanical card for this months project as I was looking at some old issues of magazines - supposedly to throw some out (ha ha ha!) and I was inspired by an article in Cardmaking & Papercraft.
I stamped the flowers & leaves, coloured them in using Promarkers & then used some Crystal Glaze. I cut the flowerpot from some brown card, edged with Adirondack ink. I adhered some paper flowers on the edge of the flowerpot. Found some faux ric rac ribbon for the pot.
I decided to make it more personal so I designed a star with Amanda's name & age on, and a Happy Birthday banner. I designed these in word on laptop then printed these onto photo paper & cut out. I wanted the 50 to be the popout part.
Now I had the size of the pop out I cut some brown card to size, then matted some green on top. Adhered the pot to the card, then adhered the sentiment to the bottom of the pot.
I have taken 2 photo's so you can see how it looks with & without the popout.
Hope she likes it !
Pop over to the JFF blog & take a peek at the other DT's makes, get some inspiration & enter the challenge - go on you know you want to!
