3rd Nautical Theme for JB Crafting Supplies

For my third nautical piece for JB Crafting Supplies I decided to make a card in the shape of a screen.
Took a piece of card, folded it in half then folded each end in. I used a spellbinder die to cut the 'legs'. Used the Tied Together Couture Creations embossing folder to give the card some texture, taking care not to go over the legs. Went around the edges and along the creases  with barn door distress ink.
Cut some panels from red & blue card, a little smaller than the panels on the screen, adhered these to the screen, cut some smaller panels from the backing paper by Adele Bradshaw at Jiggery Makery. Adhered these panels to the red & blue panels.
Printed the image & sentiment, adhered these to the screen, finished off with a few embellishments & a bit of bling.
Here is the backing paper; image and sentiment used from Adele Bradshaw at Jiggery Makery.

2nd Nautical Themed DT piece for JB Crafting Supplies

Here is my 2nd DT piece for JB Crafting Supplies - using the nautical themed images from Adele Bradwell at Jiggery Makery (have a look on the Jiggery Makery Facebook page)
This week I thought I'd have a go at making a cupcake case & a pinwheel (seeing as I had made some buns!).
I imported the lovely digi images into Craft Artist as there is a cupcake/pinwheel project.
I printed the images & cut them out.

The cupcake wrapper just needed a slit making for the tab to fit through.
The 2 pieces of the pinwheel were glued together (making sure I glued the white sides together!), you could have 2 designs for this part. Made small holes where indicated on the design & started cutting & fixing together. Alternate corners were folded to the centre & held together, then were fixed together onto a straw using a brad.

I think they look good & would be great for a party. Here are the digi images I used:

Christmas Fun DT card - Baby's first Christmas

The second theme for February over on the Christmas Fun Challenge Blog is Baby's first Christmas.
Having searched through all my Christmas stamps ( was I surprised how many I have!) I found a teddy bear one that was a freebie from a magazine - but I can't remember which one. I stamped in black Archival ink onto white card, coloured in using ProMarkers. Went over the snowflakes with a blue glitter pen.
I have recently bought some Perfect Layers rulers & was eager to try them out. I found some 'Christmassy' card, stuck the stamped image onto this, used the Perfect Layer ruler - wow! this was really easy, a perfect border! Stuck this onto some red paper from Cosy Christmas Collection ( another freebie from a magazine, but again can't remember which one!), used the Perfect Layers ruler again and another perfect border.
I covered some card with some green patterned paper from the Cosy Christmas Collection, stuck some red ribbon across, stuck my stamped, layered image to this. Made two tags, stamped Christmas but had to write 'on your 1st' as didn't have a stamp for this. Threaded some red ribbon through the tags & stuck to card using foam pads.
Hope you like it - pop across & join in at Christmas Fun Challenge Blog - get ahead with your Christmas cards!

For my long - time Valentine

Thought I'd better get a Valentine's card made for Keith - nothing like leaving it until the last minute!
Out came my Grand Calibur!
I embossed some gold card using a budding vine embossing folder from Craft Concepts. The folder is A6 & my card is  A5, so I had to emboss my card twice, but the design seemed to match up & I think it looks ok. Stuck this onto my card using Collall glue.
I made the topper using a Marianne Creatables die (Anja's Square), I used the budding vine folder to emboss the smallest layer - think you can just about see it on the photo.

Cut the letters from the gold card using Memory Box uppercase die, stuck these to the smallest layer.
Stuck the largest layers using Collall, used foam pads for the smallest layer to give some dimension & used the foam pads to stick the whole topper onto the cold card.
I finished it off by making a bow from some Hobbycraft ribbon.
PHEW! Managed to get it finished before he gets home! I think he'll like it.
Enjoy tomorrow whatever you're doing.

First DT project for J B Crafting Supplies

This is my first project for J B Crafting Supplies. I was given a lovely image, some nautical striped background paper & a sentiment, all sent to me digitally.
I am not used to digi images and decided I might try to use them in Craft Artist. But first I had to colour the image so I imported it into the paint programme on pc & coloured it there.
I imported the coloured image, backing paper & sentiment into craft artist & set to work.
I used an A5 page, put on a pale blue background, put on the striped backing sheet, resized it to leave a border of pale blue, then I chose a swatch of material, coloured it to match the pale blue background and resized it & roughened the edges. Made this swatch stand out by putting a dropped shadow around it.
I placed the image onto the swatch, resized it to fit, and put a dropped shadow around it to make it stand out.
I wanted something to put the sentiment onto so searched my embellishments & found a gingham style heart, which I liked, so popped that on, moved it around until it looked right, then placed the sentiment onto it. Used a dropped shadow around the heart.

Found a sketchy sailboat image so placed that on too.

Found a bow to put on top of the anchor for the finishing touch.
I decided to place the printed out finished project onto a paper lunch bag to use as a gift bag - I think it looks ok, hope you like it.
Thanks to Julie owner of JB Crafting Supplies for picking me as part of DT & Adele Bradwell at Jiggery Makery for the lovely digi images.
