Hi - not too bad a day here today, after a weekend of rain & cold.
The word today on One Word Wonder was Bunny.
I found a bunny stamp - don't know who it was designed by . Stamped onto whire card using black Archival ink. Stamped the image again onto some scrap paper & cut out to use as a mask.
I had a small quilt stamp from a set designed by Jennifer Ellory, Oscar the Owl & Pals - this was a freebie from Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine.
I used some removable adhesive to stick the bunny mask over the stamped image & stamped the quilt onto the card.
I used watercolour pencils to colour the image & quilt.
Matted the image onto green, then blue card.
Stamped the sentiment onto white card.
Drew some faux stitching around the image & sentiment using a black marker pen.
Hope you've had a good day & the weather has been kind to you.

DT post for JB Crafting Supplies

Hi everyone - I have been trawling through YouTube this week looking at various techniques & I came across a technique to make a paper dress. It was by Michelle from ThePaperAddiction. You can find her tutorial here .
I thought this would suit the vintage papers on the Crafter's Companion CD that Julie from JB Crafting Supplies has sent for my DT makes this month.
I found a design paper I liked & printed it off at A5 size. Followed the instructions for the dress - which were really good. I inked around the dress edges using tattered lace Distress Ink.
I picked out a co-ordinating paper & matted this onto some white card, inking around the edges of the card with tattered lace.
I cut a small strip of the co-ordinating paper to make a belt for the dress. Adhered some tiny pearls onto the bodice. Attached the dress to the card.
Stamped the Crafter's Companion sentiment onto white card, matted this onto the co-ordinating paper then onto more white card. Inked around the edges. Adhered this to the card.
I think it turned out ok - the papers really suit what I was trying to achieve.
Hope you haven't got too wet this weekend - still an excuse to stay in and craft (as if we need one!).

The word was time today over on One Word Wonder.
I cut myself a tag out of some white card using a Special Touch mask.
Used small & large clock masks from Peerless Designs to ink through using bundled sage & rusty hinge Distress Inks. Inked around the edge using frayed burlap DI, & mingled the colours in the middle of the tag.
The face, sentiment, timekeeper & clock hands stamps are from Creative Expressions, Time Keeper & Time Flies both designed by Sam Poole.
Hope you're having a good weekend - has been pouring with rain here since yesterday, has eased a bit now but it is cold! Still good for staying in & crafting I say!

The word over on One Word Wonder today was birthday. I enjoyed using the foils from Foil Play yesterday so decided to have another go.
I had a Couture Creations set of matching dies & stamps. I cut the outline if the cupcakes from white card, then stamped with the matching image using IndigoBlu flitter glue. Then applied a matte gold foil to the 'table' part of the image & a rainbow striped metallic foil to rest of the image - I liked the effect.
I adhered some self adhesive film to some white card, die cut the sentiment using a Tonic die - everyday sentiments set 1. I peeled off the backing & used the rainbow foil - I loved it!
For the background I stamped the different cupcake images using versa mark clear ink & then applied Cosmic Shimmer mica powder in pink mallow.
I cut the tags, using a freebie die from Papercraft Essentials, from Kraft & white card. Stamped the sentiment onto the smaller tag using black Archival. Threaded string through the tags & added to the card.
The weather here has been lovely again, not as 'muggy' as yesterday - still had to have my fan on though, but that's just me & my age! LOL!
Hope you've had a good day, wherever you are & whatever you're doing,

First DT post for Foil Play

Hi - here is my first DT post for Foil Play. I decided to make a new baby card.
I stuck one side of some superfine double sided adhesive sheet to some white card. Cut out the pram shape using a Marianne creatables die.
Now I thought this was going to be the tricky part! I had decided that I wanted to foil the wheeels, handle & hood part of the pram in silver foil & the body of the pram in some lovely pink pearl foil.
I carefully peeled back the sheet from the wheels & handle & applied the silver foil. I gently rubbed the foil onto the adhesive. Peeled the sheet back & the wheels were silver! I noticed a couple of spots I had missed but just applied the sheet & rubbed again & they were covered. I did the same with the hood. Feling a lot more confident, I applied the pink pearl foil to the body of the pram - I was really pleased with the result!

I found a piece of pretty paper to stick behind the hood. Used my Spellbinder Nestibilities grande ovals to cut a couple of mats - one in pink, one in silver mirri. I embossed the smaller mat using a Darice embossing folder.
I used a bunting stamp from Happy Day stamps - which were a freebie from a magazine. Stamped this onto pink card, used my small alpha stamps to stamp 'It's a girl' onto the bunting.
I inked around the white card using tattered lace Distress Ink.
Assembled the card.
I hope you like  it.
Give the foiling a try it is easy to do & looks great. Everything you need can be bought at Foil Play - have a look around. Also take a peek at their blog Foil Play Updates - some great creations to give you inspiration.
Watch out for more of my foil makes!

Hi - what a beautiful day today has been. Have been pottering about getting stuff done inside & out. Was just settling down after dinner when I remembered the One Word Wonder challenge! OOPS!
I hunted through my stash trying to think of something that wouldn't take too long to do - seeing as I hadn't left myself much time! I decided on an ATC.
I painted my ATC with some Decoart Americana acrylic paint in Burnt Umber. I then covered this with Ranger Distress Crackle paint in broken china. Once it had crackled I went over with Metallic Gilding Wax from Creative Expressions in Golden Light. I also went around the edges with the gilding wax. I stamped my sentiment, from Creative Expressions Button Floral, with Ranger black archival ink & heat embossed with clear embossing powder from Inkadinkado. I used my GC to cut out my Spellbinder Shapeabilities die Fantastic Flourish One. I painted the die cut with Cosmic Shimmer watercolour paint - Emerald Gold for the leaves/stems & Lavender Shine for the flowers.
Hope you've had a great day, thanks for stopping by,

wedding/anniversary . . . .

. . . . was the word today over on one word wonder. I decided to make a 35th anniversary card seeing as it was our 35th anniversary last week. I did make Keith a card but it was not as frilly as this one.
35 years is your coral anniversary - hence the colour choice!
I embossed some white card using a Tonic embossing folder - Amelia. I then cut 2 sides of a square into the card & folded this back. I adhered some freebie paper - from the Fairy Belle Collection by Jodie Lee, onto the folded back card & behind the card so it showed through the gap.
I die cut the tags from coral & white card using a free tag die from Papercraft Essentials. Die cut the label using Spellbinders labels 28, inking onto the white with tattered lace distress ink. Die cut the letter & numbers using Memory Box classic numbers & alphabet dies.
Adhered the tags & label into place.
The flower die was a Memory Box lovely aster die & the leaves was a Memory Box donnington tendril die.
Placed the flower, leaves & tendrils on the card.
Hope you've had a good day whatever you are doing, thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone! Today has been lovely here, hope it has wherever you are & you have been able to enjoy it.
Today's word on One Word Wonder was embellishment.
Needed to make a birthday card for someone so here it is!
I cut some 12 x 12 card in half to make a 6 x 6 card but decided to make an easel card. I found some freebie papers - Emma's Garden by Jennifer Ellory - I picked some striped & checked. Cut these in half diagonally & glued onto base card. Cut strips of green card to cover join. Die cut some flowers & leaves using my Grand Calibur, stuck these on the diagonal, edged the leaves with some olive green distress ink, made a sentiment with card & edged with distress ink, added pearls to flower centres & on sentiment, a bow & a butterfly to finish it off.
Hope you like it.

My tag for yesterdays One Word Wonder won! My word for today is love.
I made a wall hanging. I found some heart stamps, sadly I don't know who made them. I also found some foil that I had forgotten about.
I stamped the heart images onto kraft card with some Flitter Glue, then placed the red foil onto it. Was pleased with how it turned out.
The sentiment & bird box stamps are from Creative Expressions - birds, designed by Sam Poole. I stamped these using black Archival onto the kraft card.
I die cut the sentiment & went around this & the bird house with barn door Distress Ink.
At this point I was going to make a card, then I discovered some red ribbon so decided on the wall hanging
I hunted around a little more & found some red & white beads so thought they would be ok for the bottom of the hanging to give it a little weight.
Put it all together, it is now hanging in my house as I like how it looks.
Thanks for stopping by today.

The word for today over on One Word Wonder was words!
I embossed some white card using a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder - gothic script. I adhered this to the tag and went over it with some Inka Gold in rose, buffed it up to give it a bit of a shine.
Tore a page from an old book, then tore some strips from the page. (I bought the book from a charity shop, just picked up any book as I knew I wanted to use it for tearing up - good job I read the passages before I stuck them on as there were a few naughty words!) Went around the edges with frayed burlap Distress Ink. Adhered these strips to the tag.
Die cut letters using a memory box die from some kraft card. Went over these with the rose Inka Gold & buffed them up.
Stamped the letters to make the words onto kraft card using black Archival ink.
Adhered the letters, then adhered the words with foam pads.
Added a lace bow.
Thanks for stopping by.

Vintage Floral DT piece

For my DT piece this month for JB-Crafting Supplies I was sent Crafter's Companion goodies from their Vintage Floral Collection - CD-Rom, 6x6 embossing folder - blooming wonderful & an A6 rubber stamp set - sentimentals, vintage floral verses.

I thought I'd use a bit of everything today.
I used the embossing folder to emboss a piece of white card.
Printed a design sheet & a sheet of designer 3D bows.
Stamped the sentiment using crushed olive Distress Ink.
Cut the design sheet to a square shape, matted this onto the embossed white card. Went around the edges of the white card with tattered lace DI, to highlight the embossing.
Die cut 2 tags, one on the embossed card & one centering the sentiment. Went around the edge of the smaller tag with tattered lace DI. Matted the smaller tag onto the larger one, attached these to the card using foam pads.
Made up the 3D bow & adhered to the top of the tags.

Hope the World Cup is not getting you down too much - my living room has a definate green hue! Still lots of uninterrupted crafting!

today's one word wonder was....

... mystical....

Wasn't sure what to do for mystical, then I remembered I had some Lavinia stamps that were free from  Papercraft Essentials magazine.
I inked some white card using barn door, tattered lace & crushed olive Distress inks also with a Color Box ink - poolside. Stamped the main image onto some spare paper & cut it out to use as a mask. Stamped the fairy image onto the inked card, placed the mask over it & stamped the vines using crushed olive, the toadstools with frayed burlap. Stamped the stars & the sentiment using the Color Box poolside ink.
I went over a few of the leaves, stars & toadstools using Cosmic Shimmer watercolours, also used the watercolour to make some fairy dust.
Matted this onto some brown card.
Hope you like it - not quite sure if it is mystical though!
Thanks for stopping by.

circles . . .

. . . . is the word today over on One Word Wonder.
I used a circles embossing folder on some pale green card for the background. I used some freebie stamps from creative stamping magazine for the image & sentiment, stamped onto orange card. Tore around the image, then added frayed burlap distress ink. Used Inka Gold in pink around the sentiment.
Stamped some more circles onto some pale yellow card & cut out, used these as a 'ribbon' to put the sentiment on.
Matted this onto some gold mirri.

Hi everyone - well the weather has been terrible here ... rain ... rain ... rain ... and more rain!
Here's a tag I made for the One Word Wonder challenge over on Facebook. The word today is winged.
I love making these tags - not too big, not too small.
I started by covering the tag with frayed burlap distress ink. Went around the edges with pink Inka Gold, gold leaf Rub'n'Buff then some black Archival ink.
Found a small branch stamp on a Clear Impressions freebie stamp collection - rose garden, these came free with Creative Stamping magazine. Stamped the image around the stamp using frayed burlap DI.
Stamped the winged heart, from the Chocolate Baroque Punky Romance stamp collection, onto some card using barn door DI. Cut out & edged with the black archival ink. Stamped again, this time just trying to stamp the wings, using gold ink then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. Cut out the wings.
Went around the wings with the pink Inka Gold, then edged with black archival ink.
Coloured the cogs on the heart using Cosmic Shimmer watercolour, to give them a bit of shine.
Stamped the sentiment from Creative Expressions Bird stamp collection, designed by Sam Poole, onto white card using black archival.  Ripped carefully around the sentiment, than inked using frayed burlap DI, pink Inka Gold & the gold leaf Rub'n'Buff.
Decided where I was placing the sentiment then stamped the small bird images, from the freebie Clear Impressions stamp collection, using espresso Adirondack ink.
Stuck the heart to the tag, adhered the wings with foam pads. Adhered the sentiment with foam pads.
That's about it! Got to get ready for an overnight visitor of the four-legged variety tonight - James's dog Poppy is staying over. Wonder who will take up most of the bed??

Good job she's cute and only small! Still takes up a lot of bed though!
Hope you didn't get too wet today, thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone - just a quick make for One Word Wonder today - can't enter as my seaside entry won yesterday! My word for today is nature.
This was a quick late make as have been making a card for Keith for our anniversary next week - thought I'd better!
Coloured a tag using distress inks.
Found the birds on a wire image on a Crafty Individuals stamp (CI - 287), stamped using black Archival ink. The trees were from a Pilkington Lane stamp & the flowers at the bottom from an IndigoBlu stamp, both stamped using distress inks.
Finally stamped the nature sentiment & inked around the edges using - you guessed it - distress ink!
Thanks for stopping by.

My first make for Just For Fun challenge blog

It was sad that the Christmas Fun blog closed but the lovely Elaine Rayworth offered me a DT place on her blog Just For Fun Challenge Blog - thanks Elaine.
The theme for June is here comes summer, but from July it will be anything goes.
The word (well it's two words because there were two winners!) over on One Word Wonder is seaside/purple. I thought this would be ok for the JFF blog too.
The images are Pink Gems stamps. I stamped them with black archival ink, coloured with Cosmic Shimmer watercolours. Cut the images out.
For the background I found some freebie cloud paper, tore some blue card for the sea, and pinched a bit of OH's sandpaper (oops!) for the beach!
I painted shadows under the girl & the dog with watercolour paints.
Stamped the sentiment, which was a freebie Lili of the Valley stamp from Simply Cards & Papercraft, onto yellow card using orange ink & then heat embossed. I liked that it was a round stamp - thought it would do for the sun - think we could do with some of that!
Have a pop over to Just For Fun Challenge Blog & take a look at the other DT's fantastic makes for some inspiration & enter the challenge.

Made top 3!

My tag made top 3 over at 613 Avenue Create - whoop!

A blue Christmas card

Hi everyone - well it would have been time for a new challenge over on Christmas Fun Blog but the blog is closing :(
The theme would have been clean and simple plus anything goes.
I decided I'd post this card anyway.
For this project I took some blue mirri card & ran it through my Grand Calibur using a Crafts - Too embossing folder with snowflakes on it. I matted this onto some silver mirri board using my Perfect Layers ruler - I love it!
Then I made the sentiment using a Crafts - Too embossing folder with sentiments on it. There are a few on it so picked the let it snow one & cut it out. Mounted this onto my card.
