Final DT piece using Stampendous Stamps

This is my last piece using Stampendous Stamps Steampunk Shoes for JB Crafting Supplies.
I decided to move a little out of my comfort zone & try a canvas.
I applied Gesso to the canvas, then applied some spotty tissue paper. When this had dried I spritzed the canvas with Cosmic Shimmer in Mist Bronze Blush, waited for that to dry then spritzed with Adirondak Colour Wash in Cranberry.
While this was drying I cut small pieces of paper from Papermania Chronology pack, I ripped the edges then inked using Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.
I stamped one image onto a piece of the paper & one onto some tissue which I inked with the frayed burlap.
Once the inks on the canvas were dry, I mixed some Americana acrylic paint in Lamp Black and Americana Texturizing Medium to spread through a cog stencil. This gave the cogs some dimension & texture.
Once the cogs were dry I adhered the papers to the canvas & covered them in a layer of gesso.
I brushed some Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powder in Blue Lilac over the cogs (I think you can just about see the shimmer in the close up photo!).
Found some charms & added these with some brads.
I am quite pleased with how my first attempt at a canvas has turned out.

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there & hope your day has been good. I am just going to get a cuppa & look through a great book James has given me - Mixed Media Girls by Suzi Blu - hoping to try my hand at drawing! Watch this space!

4th DT piece using Stampendous Stamps for JB Supplies

This had to be a bit of a quick make as other stuff tended to get in the way of my crafting this week - boo! I decided that masks would be the way to go.
I drew a rough road shape & inked through a Peerless Designs Mask Medley - brick wall - with some yellow ink. I painted the 'mortar' with frayed burlap Distress Ink.
Inked through various That Special Touch masks.
Found an image of a girl & dog over on The Graphics Fairy. Took this image into Craft Artist cutout studio as I only wanted the girl & dog. Printed the image out, cut it out & inked around the edges with frayed burlap.
Stamped one of the sentiments onto white card, cut around it in a speech bubble shape, inked around the edges in barn door.
Stamped 'there's no place like home' sentiment at the end of my yellow brick road.

3rd DT post using Stampendous Stamps for JB Crafting Supplies

Hi - hope everyone has had a good week & is enjoying the lovely weather.
For my 3rd DT piece for JB Crafting Supplies using Stampendous Stamps Steampumk Shoes I decided to alter a box to keep all my brads etc in.
Having found a box, I cut pieces for the sides & top from Docrafts Papermania Chronology paper, distressed the edges using rusty hinge Distress Ink. Stamped images onto 2 pieces to go onto the sides.
Adhered the paper onto the box, went around the edges using frayed burlap DI.
Die cut pieces from brown card using a Nellie's multiframe die set - square lily, attached them to the top of the box & on the 2 sides that did not have stamped image, used some Creative Expressions metallic gilding wax in midnight to give it an aged look. Decided to use the gilding wax around the corners.
Put some Docrafts Papermania brads in the corners of the lid & attached a watch face charm with a brad to the centre.

Christmas Fun DT Cards

The theme over on Christmas Fun Blog this fortnight is green tree or anything goes - but it has to be a card.
For my green tree card I embossed some green vellum using my Grand Calibur & a Couture Creations embossing folder - Star Pere Noel. I liked the embossed image but wanted the tree & its decorations to stand out more. I carefully painted the tree using Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer watercolour in emerald gold, coloured the decorations in yellow sun & lava red.
Matted the vellum onto some white card, then adhered this to my red card.
Found some green bling in my stash, stuck these into three corners.
Die cut a tag from some freebie paper - positioning die over the sentiment. Distressed around the edges of tag with barn door Distress Ink. Stuck a bow on the tag then placed this on top left corner.

For my anything goes card I found some freebie Forever Friends decoupage sheets.
Die cut a shape using Grand Calibur & Spellbinders labels 28. Distressed edges of this using barn door Distress Ink.
Adhered the decoupage into the centre of shape.
Made a card from some Kraft card. Stamped the music using frayed burlap Distress Ink & distressed around the edges of the card with same ink.
Found the sentiment on the decoupage sheet, distressed with frayed burlap & placed on card.

2nd DT post using Stampendous Stamps

I decided to make a card this week for my DT piece for JB Crafting Supplies using Stampendous Stamps - Steampunk Shoes.
There are 12 stamps in this set

I stamped the heels onto super smooth card & coloured using  Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer watercolours. I love the shimmer of these watercolours but this does not come out on the photo - makes the shoes seem metallic. Cut out the image.
Took some brown card & made a square card.
Ran some kraft card through my Grand Calibur using a Die'Sire Embossalicious folder - a stitch in time. Cut this down using part of a Marianne Creatables Die - Anja's Square. Coloured this using crushed olive & frayed burlap on the edges. I liked how this brought out the watches.
I die cut some more craft card using a Marianne Design Craftable die - oval frame and coloured & distressed with olive green & frayed burlap.
Die cut a sentiment using Tonic's everyday sentiments set 2 & coloured using the olive green distress ink.
Stuck the square onto the brown card - decided to use it as a diamond. Stuck the oval in the centre & the shoes in the centre of the oval, leaving the edges to give a bit of dimension.
Die cut some kraft card using Tonic's Antique Frame Tag Die, did two of these & cut them in half. Coloured using the olive green & frayed burlap. Stuck 2 of the pieces at each side of the oval & the others at the bottom corners. Cut the sentiment so I could put some in each top corner.
Found some brads in my stash - eyelet & outlet brads, watch parts. Placed one at top & bottom of oval.
I stamped the 'click your heels!!' sentiment onto some kraft card but decided it did not stand out enough so stamped it onto some white super smooth, cut out using a Spellbinder Medallion 2 die. Edged with olive green distress ink & adhered this to the bottom right using foam pads for a bit of height.
I have to say that since I have got my Tonic glass mat I have found blending & colouring a lot easier - wish I had bought it sooner!

New Challenge

New challenge starting over on Christmas Fun Blog

Christmas Fun Challenge Blog

DT piece for JB Crafting Supplies

Hi - I was sent some great stamps for this DT piece for JB-Crafting Supplies - Steampunk Shoes from Stampendous.
I decided to make a tag.
I ran the tag through my GC using a Die'Sire Embossalicious folder - antique keys. I distressed this using Distress Inks - rusty hinge over all the tag then barn door around the edges.
I had found a royalty free image on Free Vintage Digital Stamps, I printed this out onto some super smooth card, cut the image out. Used some Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour paint in orange gold to paint the wings of the image.
Stamped out the shoes using gold ink & gold embossing powder. Coloured the shoes using Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour in lava red & yellow sun.
Printed the sentiment onto brown paper using black Archival ink, distressed the edges using barn door distress ink.
Went around the edge of the image using Creative Expressions Metallic Gilding wax - golden light & deep red, and around the shoes with the deep red.
Used the rusty hinge distress ink to colour the string.

Made Top 3!!!

Yay! My gift bag made top 3 at Challenges 4 Everybody!

Christmas Fun DT card

Here's my DT piece for Christmas Fun Challenge Blog
The theme is baubles & bows or ANYTHING GOES as well- but has to be a card. As you are permitted two entries per challenge you are more than welcome to submit an entry for each!
I took a piece of white card & stamped the bauble using Spellbinders Heirloom Ornament stamp set (which was free with Simply Cards & Papercraft).
Die cut the shape using my Heirloom Ornament die. Inked the edges using Barn Door distress ink, then went around the edge with gold ink.
Stamped the top of the bauble onto gold mirri card & cut out.
Die cut a smaller bauble from the gold mirri card, and leaves from some green card using a Marianne die - tree branch.
Layered up some red and gold mirri card onto the A5 card, adhered the baubles & tree branches onto some red card. Made a bow & put this at top of the card. Adhered this to the mirri card.
Added the bow.
