Alphabet Challenge Blog

F is for foilage
For my DT card over on the Alphabet Challenge Blog - Well I just love making these origami trees! Made a larger one from some backing paper with leaves on from my stash. Made another stepper card & layered up with some copper coloured card from a paper pack I bought from a pound shop! Decided the tree needed some decoration so threaded some beads then draped them around my tree & placed a star gem on top. Stamped some Christmas images, holly wreath, bauble & present using some free stamps from Papercraft Inspirations. Coloured in using ProMarkers & gelly roll pens. OH said he wanted this one for his Mum so made a sentiment from some peeloffs.

snow pics

Just posting a few of the 'snow views' from around home. The first pic is our car! Went into work this morning (had to as only live around corner!) but patients were cancelling & dentist couldn't get in, so cancelled rest of day & came home - whoop! more time to spend crafting & on pc! Hope everyone is warm & safe.

Blue & silver

I like that reindeer stamp so much I decided to make another card with it. Used some pale blue backing paper from my stash, layered up with some darker blue card which I punched with a snowflake punch. Stamped my lovely reindeer onto the dark blue card with some silver versa mark ink. Layered this up with the pale blue, dark blue & a strip of silver punched with the snowflake stamp. Stamped a tag & sentiment onto dark blue card, layered this onto silver. Added some silver glitter to the reindeer's nose & dotted some glitter around to sort of look like snow.  Finally made some silver origami Christmas trees. I found how to do these lovely trees over on Jules' blog - she has a lovely blog, go and take a peek. Was pleased with the result, hope you like it.

Alphabet Challenge Blog

D is for doodles. For my DT project I decided that rather than doing a little doodling I would make doodling the main feature of my card. I drew an initial shape then came back to it at various times to add bits. I coloured in using ProMarkers. I added some stickles glitter to some parts of the design. Backed with some black card cut to match the shape & mounted onto the backing paper. Hope you like it though it is a little different.
Hope you can come over & join us on the Alphabet Challenge this week.

Alphabet Challenge Blog

B is for bird & C is for cat. Not posted for a while as Dad has been back in hospital yet again for another operation. He is back home now & getting along ok for now. So here are my last 2 DT projects for the Alphabet Challenge Blog. The card was made using some freebie stamps from Papercraft Inspirations. Coloured in using water colours & glitter. Stamped some snowflakes in silver. Mounted the birds onto some red backing paper which I tore to make the edge interesting,  stamped the sentiment in silver ontosome more red torn backing paper.
C is for cat - didn't have much time this week with Dad coming out of hospital so made a quick tag using another freebie stamp. Stamped onto black card using white ink, stamped the good luck onto white card, mounted this onto black card. Finished off with some faux stitching & silver thread.
I hope I might have a little more time this week now everything has settled down a little - could do with some 'crafty time'.
Hope you can come over & join us on the Alphabet Challenge this week.

Z is for zig zags! - for my DT project on the Alphabet Challenge Blog, I decided to make an ATC. I must admit I did struggle a little trying to think of something to incorporate zig zags - but I dug deep into my stash and found some card embossed with zig zags - fantastic! I highlighted these with some copper versa mark ink. I found the dried corn stalks, mounted these onto some mulberry paper & stuck onto the ATC, made a small bow from some cord. Added some fairy sparkle to the corn stalks, made a label from the same mulberry paper.

Alphabet Challenge Blog

Y is for yellow - I have recently discovered digi scrapbooking on Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist - wow! I have really enjoyed using it. I have made a few pages but thought this one would meet the challenge of yellow on the Alphabet Challenge Blog. The programme has 'digi kits' which contain all the backgrounds. material, embellishments, frames, ribbons, decorative brushes, embroidery.... well the list is endless. The pages can be printed out or you can print out the embellishments to 3D your work or use on cards. A few tears were shed doing this page as Mum had been diagnosed with cancer during  October of 2005 - but we had been planning this party all year & she was due into hospital in January 2006 - so the party went ahead. After 21/2 years of ops & chemo she died Dec 16th 2008. As I said, tears were shed, but I really like this page & have done other pages. I have resized this page, printed it out & put in a frame - gave Dad one too.

I stuck a page from an old book onto some card & cut a strip the same width as the eye. I stuck both these onto some rainbow card from my stash & Stuck some gems above the eye. Icy colours. Here is my card for the I is for Icy colours over on the Alphabet Challenge Blog. I used some freebie backing paper, holographic & patterned card fancy ribbon & a bow from my stash. Alphabet Challenge

Here is my card for H is for hearts on the Alphabet Challenge Blog. I decided to use iris folding - took some time but I think it looks ok. Found some rub ons & beads in my stash, then used some heart punches. Trouble is I can never get away from reds & pinks for anything to do with hearts ! Hope you like it. (Decided to keep this card for hubby - the 243 is something between us.)

My Time To Craft Challenge - anniversary card

I made this card using a heart template and tried some dry embossing. I thought using my own handwriting rather than printing would give it a more personal touch. The ribbon hearts were from my stash. I have entered this one in the My Time To Craft Challenge - challenge 95 - Xtra Special.

Hubby's birthday card

Here is a card I made for OH birthday. He's a mad keen photographer hence the photography theme ! I used a punch to make the film like holes down the side of the card & on the acetate which I then coloured with Stazon ink to make it look like photographic film. Seems very old fashioned in this age of digital but OH was really pleased with the card. I used some SeeDees stamps of antique cameras onto vellum for the background.

High Hopes Stamps

Welcoming Melissa Jenkins to the HH family!

We are so proud and excited to be welcoming Melissa Jenkins to the High Hopes family! If you are not already familiar with MelJen's Designs, you are in for a treat, as she has a very unique "girly girl" style with swirls and hearts and sweet little ladybugs accenting much of her work.

Our design team has been having loads of fun the last couple of weeks as they have been quietly preparing for the second release of Dustin Pike images, and our first release with Melissa Jenkins images. We know we can always count on Dustin for some fun, funky, fabulous images that are great for all occasions, and adding Melissa to our family was a perfect fit as we felt we needed that "girly-feminine" touch!

We know you will find both Dustin and Melissa are personally as charming as the characters they draw. We are so totally enjoying working with them and excited to see what they come up with next!,

Thank you for stopping by to see what we are up to!

With Warm Wishes! ~ Tina-Marie

But I think it looks better on this one....
