Well it is December - so I am sharing a Christmas canvas with you.
I drew the tree onto the back of the canvas & carefully cut out with a craft knife.
Then I took a piece of A4 card & embossed the top half using a dotty embossing folder. For the snowy bottom I used strips of masking tape, overlapping so that it doesn't stick to itself then I could roll the edges to give a bit of texture. I painted the tape with white acrylic paint & when dry added some sparkle with stickles glue. Stuck this to the back of the canvas - leaving a space bottom right to put the battery pack of the lights. Poked a small hole to thread the lights through.
Die cut snowflakes, reindeer, poinsettias, holly & pine sprigs from card.
I arranged everything onto the canvas, adding some red gems for holly berries, blue gems in the middle of the snowflakes & loads of stickles glitter all over for a snowy, frosty feel.
Turned on my lights & arranged where I wanted them - love how it has turned out. Will be finding a place for it among my Christmas decorating!
I hope you can drop over to the Creative Artiste blog & check out the other DT members makes & hope they inspire you to make something & enter the challenge.
I am sharing some inchies I have made for a swap. We had to make 9 Christmas themed inchies. I managed to find stamps & dies to fit onto the inchies. Used DI to colour, The letters were die cut from red & green card. Edged each inchie with Inka Gold.
I had a small tin that some mints came in - the inchies fitted into it just right. I wondered if I could do anything with it as it looked like this :
I decided to give it a go! I gave it 2 coats of white gesso, making sure to let them dry inbetween coats. I then started covering with my favourite Inka Gold! I started with gold, then copper & green. Polishing each layer. I then stamped Merry Christmas onto the lid with Stazon.
Here's the result :
I'm really pleased with it.
I wrapped the inchies in some green tissue & placed them in the tin. I hope my swap partner likes them.
For this month's card I have used Elizabeth Designs Garden notes dies - Grapevine Wreath & Chrysanthemum. Susan's Garden die - Woodland Leaves. Marianne Creatables dies - Bird, Birdhouse & Ivy.
All were cut from white card & coloured with distress inks.
I used some Autumn stamps for the centre & sentiment at the bottom.
Arranged everything onto some linen effect wine coloured car, matted this onto some gold mirri board. Added a little bling & a bow.
I hope you can join in the challenge over at Crafty Calendar - pop over and see all the other DT's lovely makes.
Hi everyone! Just thought I would pop on & share this postcard I had made for a swap - I can share it now as it has been received. There was a bit of a wobble when we thought they had gone astray in the post, but it turns out her hubby had put them in a safe place & forgot to tell her about them - bad hubby - LOL!
I love the Stampendous Hallowe'en stamp. I stamped onto the white card using black Archival then coloured the image with DI & some Aztec paints. Went over the Hallowe'en with foil. Added some other images from a Crafty Individuals stamp - the barbed wire & the flying bird.. I then inked around the edges with DI & added some water drops.
The images on the other side are all Crafty Individual stamps. I stamped the church & bird image onto the top of the card & coloured using DI. The bottles were stamped onto some other white card, coloured in, cut out & embossed with clear embossing powder. The labels were also stamped onto other card, coloured & cut out. I inked around the postcard with DI, added the water splashes & arranged everything onto the card.
Hope you like them - my swap partner does.
Thanks for stopping by.
